9 Things We Loved About This Boho Chic Delhi Wedding

BY Sakshi | 02 Feb, 2023 | 5381 views | 3 min read

Now here is a wedding with decor that we loved- this shows us that not everything has to be grand and lavish to make it look beautiful. There is a lot of beauty in simplicity, and this wedding proves just that. The bride and groom, Shreya and Samagra, both doctors, wanted to break away from the traditional in a lot ways for their wedding, and not only did they do away with archaic traditions which they deemed regressive, but also went all out modern with their decor and vibe. It was boho chic with so many tiny little additions that made it stand out for us and how! Foreign Wedding Planners★ 4.9 transformed their vision into reality, and here are 9 things we absolutely loved about this Delhi wedding!

1. The winter-fall vibe

Pampas was used for entire decor as the bride wanted something boho and very different for her wedding. She likes the idea of winter fall vibe. The aisle was kept boho with jute rugs as was it all around with similar flooring.

2. The unique mandap

The mandap was very unique made on lines of hexagonal with pampas, dried leaves and red roses. Was kept minimalistic as per the bride's wish. There were red scrolls with Sanskrit shlokas hanging around. These were wedding vows in Sanskrit.

3. The tiny little additions

There was cute little additions like a Paper cone with flower petals, displayed beautifully- a lovely idea that adds to the decor as well. Also, each chair had a brass bell for guests with a sign 'Ring the bell and wish them well'.

4. The memory table

A memory table was added with red candles and pictures of the ancestors and those with the couple in spirit.

5. The gorgeous tablescapes!

6. Guest-centric activities & favour walls!

All guests enjoyed favours with live perfume making counters.

7. Eco-friendly elements

There was a lot of use of natural wood, bamboo etc for very organic and eco-friendly look and feel.

8. Doing away with 'outdated' traditions

The bride is a strong feminist who wanted to do away with stereo-type regressive traditions. So they removed kanyadaan, exchange of gifts and had promise chains for both instead of Mangalsutras. We did a female pandit for them - Manisha Shete from Jnana prabodhini, Arya Samaaj, swyamvar traditions. Also there was no Vidaai.

9. The entertainment!

For entertainment - we used novel idea of Beatbox group that played popular Bollywood music post wedding pheras.
